“In a certain month, three Sundays have dates that are even numbers. What day of the week is the 12th of the month?” Students from Saint Gregory the Great Academy were eager to answer questions like this one during the eighth annual Holy Cross High School Math Competition held on April 7. At the end of the lightning round single elimination for the top 16 individual students competing against each other from schools across the region, eighth grade student Julianna Golden (pictured below, left) won second place while classmate Colleen Kalinowski (pictured below, right), also in eighth grade, tied for third place.
