I do not usually compose blog entries about my life outside of school; however, it is not every day that my closest friend celebrates the Sacrament of Matrimony. This past Saturday, September 7, 2013, my brother Jonathan married his new wife Laura. It was a beautiful day, both weather-wise and in celebrating this special day with both Jon and Laura. Heather and I, along with AJ, Emily, and my father were so blessed to be a part of this special day. I also believe that my mother would have loved Laura as much as I do, as my mother had a personality very much like mine.
With my Jon's wedding, the streak of both my brother and I receiving all our sacraments in our home church, St. Anthony in Trenton, is intact. As a side note, both of us also graduated from elementary and high school is this magnificent church as well. This day made me reflect on why our Catholic faith has always been such a vital part of life for both my brother and me. I believe this is because of the strong foundation and example that my parents set for both of us while we were in children in elementary school. This belief reminds me why what we do at St. Gregory the Great Academy in partnership with you is so important; we are working together to solidify a foundation of faith!
