One of the finer Christmas customs at our Academy is the practice of replacing "Secret Santa" gifts in the individual grades with a donation in the name of the class to a charitable organization. Instead of buying Secret Santa gifts for each other, the students pool the money that they would have spent and make a group donation. Several of our grades engage in this custom, and I am always very happy to see our students thinking of others during the Christmas Season. We recently sent the following donations on behalf of our students:
Grade 2: Three giant bags of mittens, scarves, gloves, and hats were donated to TASK
Grade 5: $246.00 was donated to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation
Grade 8: $150.00 was donated to the Thomas Jerome House
$150.00 was donated to St. Denis School to assist in their rebuilding efforts
