No construction updates this week, as I am spending a few days at the shore with my family. Not to worry, however, as I left a very long list of things to do.
Being at the shore has led me to ponder some very basic questions, however. For example, how is it that I taught a couple hundred middle school students, was Vice Principal for five years, and am now responsible for almost 570 students and a staff approaching 70, yet I cannot teach my daughter that sand is for playing with and NOT for eating?
Another point to ponder this week was presented by my son, who informed me very seriously that he would never eat crab because it would definitely pinch his tongue on the way down:
As I ponder these questions, I hope that each of you have had the opportunity to spend some special time with your sons and daughters this summer. If not, it is surely not too late. Even if you cannot "go away" make some time to spend a special summer day with your children. This week has reminded me how priceless these days are.
