Welcome to my new blog! During these summer months, I hope to offer some insight into the preparations that are underway for the opening of school in September.

When we reopen in September as a Pre K-8 academy, we will be organized into three distinct "schools" within the academy: The Early Childhood Center (Grades Pre 3, Pre 4, Kindergarten and One), The Lower Elementary School (Grades Two, Three, and Four), and The Middle School (Grades Five, Six, Seven, and Eight).

Much of this summer will be devoted to making physical changes to the school building to enable relocation of classroom space. This work will enable us to welcome our preschool students to the first floor in our Early Childhood Center wing and to tranport our Second Grade classes upstairs to our Lower Elementary School wing.

Demolition work began as soon as the last day of the 2011-2012 school year ended on June 13. Here are some pictures of Old KB/New Pre 3:
