One of the most exciting parts of a new school year is the opportunity to welcome new faculty members to St. Gregory the Great Academy. This year, we welcome four talented and experienced teachers to our Academy. We welcome Mrs. Christina Ely to Homeroom 5A. She is a graduate of The College of New Jersey, and taught at St. Mary School in Bordentown until the school closed this past June. Mrs. Ely is Mrs. Rice’s daughter, and a graduate of our school. We welcome Mrs. Gena Bitonti to Homeroom 1B. Mrs. Bitonti graduated from Trenton State College and was a special education teacher in Hamilton Township for several years. Having taken a few years off, she is excited to return to teaching this year. We welcome Sister Barbara Furst, OSF as our Library Teacher for Grades Kindergarten through 5. Sister Barbara comes to us after completing a long and distinguished tenure at the Sister Georgine School, having been at the Sister Georgine School since 1971. Sister Barbara served as principal of the Sister Georgine School for most of her time at the school, having concluded her time as principal this past June when the school closed. Finally, we welcome Mrs. Kristin Bergin as our Music Teacher for Grades Preschool thought 8. Mrs. Bergin is a graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, and taught previously in the Howell and West New York public school districts.
I know that our Academy family will warmly welcome each of our new faculty members this year. I look forward to the gifts that each one will bring to the Academy!
