As we move through the month of July, we have had some construction projects moving along here at school. This summer, the Kindergarten classrooms were next in line for renovation. These rooms are receiving new windows, new split-system air conditioning; new lighting, and new ceiling tiles. Despite the cost of these renovations, they are vital to the long term maintenance of our school building. The window and lighting components in our school are approaching 50 years old, and replacement parts are very difficult to find. We must move incrementally each year, lest we defer these renovations too long and find ourselves in the position of systems failure in the future. As each classroom in renovated, the parts are saved to keep the remaining unrenovated classrooms in working order. Here are some photos of the process so far:
The time has also come to retire the carpet that was in the Music Room in favor of a new vinyl tile commercial floor. Concurrently, we expanded the space for used uniform storage. The project was completed fully "in-house", with Mr. Bonifazi, Mr. Raynor, Mr. Barnes, and our summer helpers completing all of the work:
